Cat McArthur is dedicated to empowering individuals throughout their health and fitness journeys, with a special focus on women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. Drawing on her Olympic-level athletic background, Cat offers a unique blend of personal insight and professional expertise.
Holding extensive training in Women’s & Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy, Cat’s experience spans a broad spectrum of clients, particularly those in pregnancy, postpartum, and those with pelvic floor dysfunction and general musculoskeletal conditions.
Her method combines evidence-based practices with a deep empathy for her clients, tailoring treatments to their individual needs and goals. Continuously engaging with the latest research and innovation, Cat’s infectious passion for her work and commitment to her clients shines through in every interaction.
Whether working with women during pregnancy and postpartum or individuals with general musculoskeletal issues, Cat’s approach is characterised by a relentless drive to support each client in achieving their best, both in their health and overall wellbeing.
Cat’s journey from elite sprint kayak athlete to specialised women’s health physiotherapist reflects her dedication and passion for helping others. Competing at the highest level representing Australia at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games in the women’s K4, she gained a deep understanding of the physical and mental demands on athletes, appreciating the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Transitioning from her athletic career, Cat pursued physiotherapy, specialising in women’s health, bringing her unique perspective to address the specific needs and challenges faced by women at different life stages.
In her practice, Cat collaborates closely with her clients, drawing on her own experiences to offer personalised care. She focuses on both treating injuries and empowering her clients with the knowledge and tools for injury prevention and overall health maintenance. Cat’s holistic approach centres on education and empowerment, encouraging clients to take charge of their bodies and health. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to empowering others inspire and support her clients, helping them lead healthy, active lives.
Cat specialises in a comprehensive range of women’s health issues, with a particular focus on pregnancy and postnatal care. Her expertise includes managing pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain and prescribing safe exercise routines for expectant mothers. She is skilled in addressing prenatal pelvic floor dysfunction and guiding new mothers through postnatal return to exercise, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and abdominal recovery.
Cat also has a deep understanding of conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic pain, and pain with intercourse. She provides conservative management for prolapse, tailors pelvic floor-safe exercise prescriptions, and offers effective strategies for incontinence and bladder health.
Through her specialized knowledge and compassionate approach, Cat helps women navigate these complex health challenges with confidence and support.
