STEP BEHIND THE CURTAIN
Meet Grace
Physiotherapist
Grace Djurovitch
Grace is a qualified physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and an extensive background in teaching dance and Pilates. She loves helping people move better by combining her knowledge of physiotherapy and movement, making sure they reach their full physical potential.
When it comes to dancers, her approach centres on understanding the unique needs of each person by focusing on the intricate details of their body mechanics while also considering the holistic impact of movement on overall health and performance. Grace believes in fostering a collaborative environment where education, awareness, and personalised care empowers the dancer to thrive, whether they’re recovering from injury, enhancing performance, or preventing future issues.
Grace’s love for movement began at the age of three when she started dancing, and it quickly became a lifelong passion. Focusing on ballet and contemporary dance, she completed all levels of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus achieving high distinctions throughout. It was during preparations for Solo seal when she got her first injury that shifted her ballet career to contemporary. After finishing school, Grace moved to Melbourne to study at Transit Dance, where she trained intensively and had the opportunity to perform in professional contracts, including a role in Stephanie Lake’s production of Colossus and Melbourne Fringe works.
However, during this time, Grace’s interests began to shift and she moved to Brisbane, where she discovered the world of clinical Pilates. It was here that her passion for movement took a new direction—she found herself drawn to helping others understand their bodies, rehabilitate from injury, and improve their athletic performance. While continuing to teach dance, Grace began to study physiotherapy, realising that her passion for movement and her desire to support others could be combined in a career focused on health and rehabilitation.
Today, she combines her deep understanding of the body, gained through years of training and performance, with her physiotherapy knowledge to help dancers and athletes perform at their best, recover from injuries, and prevent future issues.
